Sir Mohamed Mansour
Founder, Non-Executive Chairman
Sir Mohamed Mansour
Sir Mohamed is a distinguished business leader, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Founder and Chairman of Ingaz Microfinance, which provides credit and other financial services to small business owners in Egypt.
He is also the Chairman of Man Capital LLP, an investment firm that provides long-term capital and support to companies in a range of sectors including logistics, tech, sport, education, renewable energy and healthcare. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Mansour Group, a global conglomerate that operates across many sectors and markets including automotive, capital markets, consumer and retail, industrial equipment, technology and services.
Sir Mohamed is the Founder of the Lead Foundation, a non-profit organisation that operates independently of Ingaz in providing funding to small and micro enterprises operated by under-privileged women in Egypt.
He is a member of Bank of America’s EMEA Senior Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees for the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. In the United States, he serves on the Advisory Board for the Centre for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) at Georgetown University. He is also a member of Harvard Kennedy School Dean’s Council.
In 2024, he was given a knighthood in the UK by HRH King Charles III for services to charity, business and political service.
In 2023, he was awarded the Order of the Star of Italy, one of Italy’s highest honours, by President Sergio Matterella.
Sir Mohamed obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA in 1968 and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University, USA in 1971. He taught at Auburn University until 1973.
He received an Honorary Doctorate from North Carolina State University in 2022.
Karim Fanous

Karim Fanous
Karim Fanous is a veteran of the microfinance sector in Egypt, having spent the last 20 years in the sector. His career journey, involving international banking and consulting, has equipped him with a unique perspective on the finance industry.
Prior to his involvement in microfinance, he honed his skills in international banking, working in various countries including Bahrain, Hong Kong, the UAE, and Egypt. He has also served as an independent Business and Financial Consultant, providing valuable insights and guidance to clients in Egypt and overseas.
Karim served as a board member of Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt and the Washington DC based Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) network and “Sanabel” the Microfinance Network of the Arab Countries.
Karim holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics & Political Science, Cairo University. His academic background, coupled with his extensive practical experience, has positioned him as a leading figure in the Egyptian microfinance sector.
Amir Nafie

Amir Nafie
Amir is a microfinance professional with almost 20 years of experience.
Prior to joining the field of microfinance, he refined his skills in the corporate world, working in accounting, finance, internal auditing, and business management for over 14 years in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Amir’s diverse background has equipped him with a valuable skill set, enabling him to contribute effectively to the microfinance sector. His experience in accounting and finance provides him with a strong foundation in financial management, while his expertise in internal auditing ensures a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
Amir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ain Shams University Faculty of Commerce.
Additionally, he has attended numerous professional development programs, and most recently is the Executive Development Program (EDP) at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA. His academic background, combined with his extensive practical experience, makes him a valuable asset to the microfinance industry.
Hisham Samaha

Hisham Samaha
Hisham has more than 23 years of experience in the Banking and finance sector. He started his journey at the banking sector, with Misr International Bank, where he specialized in project finance and syndicated loans. His journey in banking included his experience at Arab International Bank as a deputy manager.
Afterwards he transitioned into the investment and private equity world. That included a 10-year tenure as Vice President at Egypt Kuwait Holding Company, one of the MENA region’s most prominent and rapidly growing investment firms.
Hisham then moved to WD Capital / AGS Holding Limited as Head of Investment & Strategy & Vice Chairman. In 2019, Hisham was appointed as the Chief Strategy Officer of Arab African International Bank, a joint venture between Central Bank of Egypt and Kuwait Investment Authority and one of Egypt’s leading private sector banks.
Hisham holds MBA from Arab Academy for Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cairo University, Faculty of Commerce

Hisham Halbouny
Hisham is the Co-Founder and General Partner of P1 Ventures, an early-stage Africa-focused venture capital fund. P1 Ventures has been a strategic early partner to several category- defining companies across the continent. Hisham is deeply passionate about collaborating with and supporting entrepreneurs, driving innovation and technology to transform emerging markets.
Prior to P1 Ventures, Hisham was a Partner at Man Capital LLP, based in London, where he led the firm’s global direct investments platform. He played a key role in developing the firm’s investment mandate, leading investments across the U.S., Europe, and Africa.
Earlier in his career, Hisham served as Managing Director at EFG Hermes, the MEA region’s leading investment bank. He co-led the GCC investment banking division, expanding the firm’s reach across the Middle East and Africa, and he also advised in landmark transactions
across MENA.
Hisham is also an advisor and board member to several high-growth companies.
Frédéric Duranton

Frédéric Duranton
Frédéric Duranton is the current Chief Financial Officer for Mantrac Group, a leading Caterpillar distributor and heavy equipment solutions provider operating across Africa and the Middle East.
Before joining the Group in 2014, Frédéric held various positions in the finance departments of two major FMCG corporations, Nestlé and Reckitt Benckiser, where he spent his career deepening his financial expertise and honing his managerial and leadership skills. His roles included internal auditor, commercial controller, and manufacturing and supply controller, before gradually taking on CFO duties, starting with his role in the joint venture between Nestlé and L’Oréal. He later held significant positions in Central and West Africa with Nestlé and in Southeast Asia with Reckitt Benckiser.
Frédéric is also the founder and a Board Member of AMEL, a leasing company, and serves on the board of Vanguard Logistics.
He served as a French Foreign Trade Advisor for 6 years while based in Ghana and India.
Frédéric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Ipag Business School in Paris, an Executive Master in Corporate and Business Management from Bocconi University, and completed his post-graduate studies at IMD in Switzerland, earning a PED executive degree.

Karim S. Hassan
Karim Hassan has over 22 years of international private equity, investment and operational experience in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. He’s currently Executive Board Member of AMEL Holding Limited, a financial services group operating in Africa and the Middle East, as well as Group
CEO of ManFin Financial Holding.
Prior to that Karim was the CEO of the Samih Sawiris Family Office Investments in the region. Karim was also the Group Head of Business Development & Investments and a member of the Executive Committee at Orascom Development Holding AG in Switzerland, an international real estate developer and hotel operator publicly listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX), where he was leading the group’s
business development and investment angles across all the group’s international operations in 8 different countries. Karim also acted as CEO for one of the group’s affiliates.
Karim is also Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Investment Committee at TCV, a private equity firm that manages several funds and holds investments in several portfolio companies operating in different industries.
Prior to co-founding TCV, Karim was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Raya Holding for Financial Investments in Egypt, where he was responsible for leading and managing all investment and restructuring activities of all the group’s different operating companies, while managing the existing investment portfolio. also led the group’s expansion into the European market.
Previously Karim was a Managing Director at Abu Dhabi’s Royal Group, one of the UAE’s largest investment holding firms with multiple investments and holdings worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Karim assumed different roles in the private equity & direct investment space, including at the Los Angeles office of Colony Capital, a leading U.S. based private equity firm, and at the Commercial International Bank’s “CIB” managed portfolio of investments department in Egypt.
Karim serves on the board of directors of several companies.
Laila Hassan

Laila Hassan
Laila joined Algebra Ventures as a General Partner to launch the VC’s second fund in 2021. She is also a Venture Partner at 500 Global where she is responsible for 500’s first MENA Fund (500 Falcons). She joined 500 back in 2019 as a principal to lead the fund’s follow on strategy. Laila has played a crucial role in enhancing both the collection and analysis of portfolio data. Prior to that, Laila worked with several VC firms across the region such as Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP) in the UAE and Algebra Ventures in Egypt, where she led transactions and worked with portfolio companies on fundraising and operational enhancements.
Laila was active in the venture capital and startup landscape in Egypt, where she worked as a consultant for several start-up businesses assisting them in developing operational and fundraising schemes. She led investment assessments and provided recommendations to several VCs and family offices in the region. While completing her MBA from London Business School, Laila joined the investment banking division at Morgan Stanley in London as a summer associate, after which she opted to move back to Egypt to pursue a career among the now-thriving startup community. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she worked as an associate at Qalaa Holdings, a regional private equity firm based out of Cairo, where she focused on the alternative energy, oil and gas and glass sectors. She holds a dual undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Law from the American University in Cairo and Cairo University respectively.

Ahmed El-Bassiouny is a distinguished financial executive with over 25 years of experience in Egypt’s leading financial institutions, demonstrating his expertise in investment banking, private equity, corporate restructuring, and banking.
Ahmed El-Bassiouny is the founder, Chairman, and CEO of GWP Capital.
Prior to his current position, he served as Senior Vice President – Investment at Egypt Kuwait Holding Company “EKH”, where he played a pivotal role in strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
Ahmed El-Bassiouny has served as a board member in several companies.
Ahmed El-Bassiouny holds a Bachelor’s degrees in Business from Alexandria University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

George is a Microfinance professional with over 20 years of experience. He joined Ingaz in 2023, bringing a diverse background in internal auditing, research & development, and training.
Prior to his current role, George played a pivotal role in various organizations, where he focused on ensuring financial integrity, driving innovation, and developing talent.
His experience as a Training Coordinator for the development training program between Canada’s Coady International Institute and Egypt’s CEOSS highlights his commitment to knowledge sharing and capacity building.
